A year has passed since we turned twenty, and it didn't pass quietly for Emerald Coast Growers, or for the green industries at large.
Big nurseries made big changes. Growers of all sizes grappled with complex labor and energy issues. The economy still sputters like a balky engine, but shows signs of regaining a normal pulse.
Weather is always our wild card, but recent extremes seemed especially extreme. With a mild winter and early spring, historically cold regions got a rare energy bill respite. But historically dry Southern areas plowed historic snowfalls more than upstate New York.
